Like echo sounder: Waves are
transmitted.
When the waves struck an object,
a small portion of energie will be
reflected.
From the antenna position and time to
receive the reflected wave you get direction and range to the
target.
Task
of the ship RADAR:
Object within a certain range of a ship shall be located, the direction and range to the objects shall be measured.
